‘Alice in the Wonderland at Tung Chung’

It is a forgotten place that you can find your time in the weekend. You can visit the Tung Chung Playground and enjoy a large piece of grassland for camping, playing football and badminton. When you walk towards the sea, there is a mud beach where people are collecting clams, seashells and mini crabs during the lowering of tides. You can enjoy the airport sea view and spend a few hours with family sitting on the rocks. You can also pick the seashells, clams and mini-crabs and prawns. Please respect the natural environemnt. Note that it is not recommended to go there during heavy rain or high tides.

One historical monument would be the Tung Chung Hau Wong Temple. It was originally worshipping for the fishermen. Now, it is a hidden tourist spot for people to pray. This place is also a starting point of the hiking trail towards San Tau Hill. If you like to go hiking, you should not miss it.

You can go into the area through a hidden staircase near Yat Tung (I) Estate Fuk Yat House at Yu Tung Road. Then, you can go down to the Tung O Ancient Trail. By walking through the trail, you will see the Wai Fung Farm. After that, go straight forward and you will reach the Tung Chung Recreational Centre. Besides the Centre, you can enter through the main gate and you will see a large piece of grassland and the mud beach. Cherish your valuable moments with your friends in this tranquil environment.
